UKRAINE: Hungarian missionary Laszlo Bakos reports that many children and families were blessed when the church outreach in Muzsaly distributed 100 packages to needy children. They also distributed 100 food packages to nearby needy families in eight villages. Later they distributed 80 Samaritan Purse boxes that blessed and surprised the children as well as their parents. He also reports that “in every church meeting, people receive Jesus.” Pray that the needs of those they are ministering to will be met and that God will touch the hearts of many people and draw them to Him.

GUINEA: Missionary Tom Moore called today requesting prayer for the current situation in Guinea. Demonstrations continue throughout the capital city and other areas of the country. Demonstrators are demanding that the president resign. The president refuses to do so. Tom Moore assured us that he and Sherry are safe but have not had access to email communication for approximately two weeks. They are not able to leave the house due to the demonstrations. They assured us they are in no immediate danger but request prayer for the Lord’s intervention and for peace to prevail. Tom also informed us that Benjamin Tove, pastor of the English speaking (Liberian) refugee church suffered a stroke and died on January 2, the day before the Moores returned to Guinea. Please remember the Moores and Guinea in prayer.

BRAZIL: Pastor David Schell, who pastors the church in Porto Alegre, shares with us that last Sunday they started a 15-day evangelistic outreach in a nearby park. They were very encouraged to have about 25 people participate in the first outdoor service. Pray as they continue this evangelistic effort that God will bless their efforts, bring many people to Jesus, and allow their church to grow.

SIERRA LEONE: Field Director Milton Godwin rejoices that they have four church properties and three completed church buildings in Sierra Leone. The headquarters church in Congo Town is waiting funding to be completed. Several outreaches have been started by these churches. The Congo Town church congregation has started outreaches in four slum areas. In one of those areas, they have seen tremendous interest and have already gathered 10 to 15 people together to begin a Bible study. He also praises the Lord that in the service last week in Congo Town over 200 people attended. Another church has been started in Hill Station, which is near the new U.S. Embassy. Also Pastor Vincent of Goderich is starting another church. This will be the eighth year of Open Bible ministry in Sierra Leone. Pastor Milton requests prayer as they seek to continue to equip and prepare ministers of the gospel. The INSTE program has had a good start. Continue to pray for funding so they will be able to finish the church in Congo Town. A temporary building on the site is currently being used for the school. Toilet facilities are urgently needed. Pray for God’s provision.

NICARAGUA: Missionaries Nelson and Tirsa Gaitan report that the churches continue to grow in Nicaragua. At the headquarters church in San Marcos, 250 people attended the last service of 2006. Two couples got married in the service. Please pray for Nelson and Tirsa as they plan to travel to Costa Rica in the next two weeks to offer their assistance in the preparation for the new church facility that will be built by the MOVE construction team that arrives in Costa Rica on February 13. Pray also for the plans and preparations for the MOVE trip to be completed well and on time
